Streak Free Window Guide
Posted 18th December 2014 in AdviceTo help you achieve sparkling windows on your bi-folding doors, in your conservatory or any other windows in your home, we've put together some useful hints and tips to help you achieve streak free windows that shine.
Window cleaning pros recommend investing in a good window-washing squeegee that's got a soft rubber edge. Alternatively you can use an old 100% cotton rag or lint free cloth.
If you don't want to invest in 'yet another' cleaning product, the old wives tale is to use crumpled up black and white newspaper. But make sure you avoid using any pages with colour. And remember to wear rubber gloves otherwise your hands will be covered in print!
Natural home-made window cleaning solutions work just as well as shop bought products (in fact some say better). We recommend mixing 1 part vinegar with 3 parts warm water. If the smell of vinegar bothers you try adding a couple of drops of lemon juice.
Windows dry quicker in the sunshine and are more likely to result in streaks. Therefore we recommend avoiding washing your windows in direct sunshine.
If cleaning both the inside and outside of your windows on the same day, try this handy tip: Wipe the inside windows horizontally and the outside windows vertically. This will allow to easily identify missed spots.
