ALUMINIUM SLIDING FOLDING DOORS

Our superb range of aluminium sliding folding doors enable you to open up your home or conservatory and bring your garden inside your home.

Also referred to as multifold doors, trifold doors and concertina doors a sliding folding door will enhance any home by providing an unobstructed opening of up to 6 metres. Folding doors are a very popular choice for new extensions and are regularly featured in home improvements magazines and television programmes where their stunning appearance adds the 'WOW' factor to any property. Bi-folding doors can replace an existing patio or french door and can also be used as conservatory doors, sunroom doors, garden office doors and open-up swimming pool enclosures. In fact folding doors can be installed almost anywhere you require a clear, wide access to your patio or garden.

The folding door shown above is a 3 panel style with a traffic door on the left allowing normal single door access from inside or outside the house. When required the shoot bolt locking system is released and allows all 3 panels to fold and slide to the right. This sliding folding door has been configured to stack outwards but a stack inwards arrangement could also be provided. HIGH PERFORMANCE DOUBLE GLAZING STANDARD

All bi-folding doors are supplied with 28mm Tripleshield argon filled Low E double glazing as standard providing an exceptionally low U value of just 1.2. Manufactured from 'soft coat' Low E glass Tripleshield double glazed sealed units have superior insulation benefits over K glass and also help reduce solar gain providing the optimum glazing solution.

FREE UPGRADE TO SELF-CLEANING GLASS

All folding doors supplied for external applications are now supplied with self-cleaning glass to the external surface of the sealed units. This essential extra helps to keep the outside glass clean by using rain water and daylight to breakdown organic dirt even on cloudy days.

You can also specify other glazing options such as Pilkington Activ Neutral solar control self cleaning glass and a full range of decorative glass options such as georgian bar inserts or traditional lead is also available.

CONSERVATORY BI-FOLDING DOORS

With the introduction of the new Ultraframe 'Super Duty Eaves Beam' you can now specify a folding sliding door for your new conservatory, replacing the traditional patio or french door with a sliding folding door that provides a greater unobstructed opening allowing your living space to merge with your garden. Until this recent innovation was added to Ultraframe's conservatory roof system an expensive steel portal frame was required to support the roof above bi-folding doors. Depending on the dimensions and style of conservatory it is now possible to provide folding doors up to 3500mm wide using this new heavy duty eaves beam.

INTERNAL BI-FOLDING DOORS

With the low threshold option our aluminium folding sliding doors are the perfect solution for separating your conservatory from your house. To conform with building regulations this door must be of external quality and our aluminium sliding folding doors conform fully to building regulations doc L. At only 30mm the low threshold can be sunk into the floor if required and during normal use the complete door can be opened to provide a continuation of your living space from house to conservatory. When the property is empty simply close off the house by folding and sliding your bifold door into the locked position for extra security.

SLIM SIGHTLINES

Manufactured from strong and durable thermally broken aluminium profiles our sliding folding door has slim sight lines which provide wider glass apertures when compared to upvc folding doors. Aluminium bi-folding doors are renown for their ease of operation and reliability in service and our doors also benefit from a dual roller system at the bottom with the panel tops also guided by rollers for smooth running. When fully open the doors stack neatly together ensuring the maximum opening possible is achieved.

HIGH SECURITY AS STANDARD

Our bi-folding doors feature high security shoot bolt locking as standard and traffic doors are fitted with multi-point hook bolt locking to provide optimum security. The locking system and running gear are fully concealed when the door is closed ensuring that there is no opportunity for an intruder to gain access by tampering with the door gearing, hinges and fixings.

DESIGNED FOR YOU

The are many different designs available that will provide a sliding folding door that opens to the left and/or right in your aperture. Many bifolding door styles also include the option of a traffic door that allows normal day to day access to your garden without opening the complete door.

This sliding folding door opens outwards onto decking and is divided into six panels with a traffic door in the centre and configured to allow three panels to move to the right and three panels to the left.

Visofold sliding folding doors are available up to 6 metres wide and can be manufactured to open inwards or outwards and the locking system and wheels are fully concealed when the door is closed. These Smart Systems Visofold doors have been used for many years throughout the UK and Europe and are widely accepted as a high quality sliding folding door for domestic and commercial installations.

uPVC Bi-folding Doors

Although there are a growing number of cheap upvc folding doors entering the market the majority of these systems cannot offer the ability to 'open outwards' which is the most popular requirement. In most cases this is because upvc folding doors are manufactured from profiles that were originally designed for windows and doors and have been adapted to manufacture bi-fold doors. The size and weight of the upvc profiles and the reinforcement requirements can also greatly reduce the width, height and door configurations available. It should also be noted that most upvc sliding folding doors use exposed hinges and gearing which can be accessible from the outside and therefore may create a possible security issue.

There is no doubt that uPVC windows and doors are an efficient, cost effective and therefore, highly popular choice for replacement windows,conservatories and double glazing. The suitability of uPVC profiles for the manufacture of folding sliding doors however is limited in the styles of door it is possible to manufacture and the ability to provide an aesthetically pleasing door that can provide the most popular open outwards requirement.

DIY INSTALLATION

These superb aluminium sliding folding doors are suitable for installation by yourself as self build folding doors and can also be installed by your builder. Our survey guide will provide the basics for measuring the aperture and deciding on the manufacturing size of your new diy bi-fold doors.

Folding doors up to 4 panels wide and 2100mm high will normally be supplied fully fabricated with the sealed units supplied seperate. Wider doors may be supplied with the frame as an assembly kit for ease of transportation and handling. Full assembly instructions will be provided for you to reassemble the frame on site. If you have restricted access from the point of delivery to the required installation point and cannot accept delivery of the bifold fully made-up please be sure to advise us at time of order.

Your new folding door will be supplied with full installation instructions. To ensure a trouble-free installation it is important that the door is fitted square and plumb in the aperture and the cill is fully supported and level along it's full length. Instructions are also provided for glazing the door including how to correctly pack the double glazed sealed units to ensure the door operate smoothly.

INSTALLATION SERVICE

Although we are a supply only business in some parts of the country we are able to introduce you to a professional installer who will carry out the survey and install your new sliding folding door for you. Costs for this service are payable directly to the installer. Just use our instant online bi-folding door quote service and if we have an installer in your area your personal door quote will show the optional additional cost for survey and installation.

HOW TO ORDER

Your new folding door will be manufactured to your requirements and since we want to ensure your door arrives exactly as you selected we don't offer an online ordering facility. When you are ready to order please call or email your contact number and we'll call you so we can guide you through the ordering process discussing all the options that are available to you. All order details are confirmed to you by email for you to approve before processing.

PAYMENT

We accept all major credit and debit cards at no extra cost or you can pay by internet bank transfer. We require 50% deposit at time of order and the balance is payable by cleared funds five working days prior to your agreed delivery date.

DELIVERY

Our folding doors are delivered free to mainland UK destinations excluding Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands for which an additional charge may apply. We normally deliver using a fleet of 7.5 ton vehicles although sometimes use articulated vehicles so please be sure to advise us if there are any restrictions for these type of vehicles at your location.

Folding doors are delivered with glass separate and some doors may be delivered with the outer frame shipped in an assembly kit form due to transport restrictions or where the customer has specified limited access to site. Doors are supplied shrink wrapped in tough polythene to ensure they reach you in pristine condition.

Aluminium folding doors are very heavy items especially when supplied fully fabricated. It is the customer's responsibility to provide adequate labour to offload the door on delivery and please check that you have enough clearance to be able to relocate a fully assembled door to the installation location.
