Our superb range of aluminium sliding folding doors allow you to seamlessly merge your home or conservatory with your garden bringing the outside inside.
Also referred to as multifold doors, trifold doors and concertina doors a sliding folding door will enhance any home by providing an unobstructed opening of up to 6 metres. The folding door shown here is a 3 panel style with a traffic door on the left allowing normal single door access from inside or outside the house. When required the shoot bolt locking system is released which enables all 3 panels to fold and slide to the right. This sliding folding door opens out but an open in configuration can also be provided. Our Bifold Door Styles page provides full details of the styles of bi-folding doors available.
These sliding folding doors are proving a very popular choice for new extensions and conservatories and are regularly featured in home improvement magazines and television make-over programmes where their stunning appearance adds the 'WOW' factor to any property. Bi-folding doors can also replace existing patio or french doors and can also be used as conservatory doors, sunroom doors, garden office doors and open-up swimming pool enclosures due to their ability to provide up to a 90% clear unobstructed opening.
All folding sliding doors are now supplied with our STAYCOOL double glazed sealed units that not only provide an exceptionally energy efficient 1.1 U-value but also reflect 57% of direct heat from the sun whilst also reducing glare by 35% not only protecting you but also your furnishings.
With the low threshold option our aluminium folding sliding doors are the perfect solution for separating your conservatory from your house. Building regulations state that this type of door must be of external quality and our aluminium sliding folding doors fully conform to building regulations doc L. At only 30mm the low threshold can be sunk into the floor if required so that when the door is fully open you will enjoy a seamless intergration of the two living spaces. Closing the bifold not only secures the main house from the conservatory but also provides an additional insulation barrier during the colder months of the year.
Many homeowners are now specifying folding sliding doors in their new home extension and we now provide a bespoke range of aluminium roof lanterns for flat roof extensions that match the colour and finish of our aluminium bi folding doors.

Folding doors can also be specified in conservatories where they are increasingly used to replace traditional french or sliding patio doors. Their wider unobstructed opening enables easier access from the conservatory onto your patio which is great for barbecues in the summer but also for simply enjoying your garden views from the comfort of your conservatory.
Until recently installing folding doors in a conservatory often meant an expensive steel portal frame was also required to provide adequate structural support for the roof. However Ultraframe have now introduced a Super Duty eaves beam option specifically designed for use in conservatories which provides a heavy duty eaves beam capable of supporting the roof above the bifold door. Depending on the dimensions and the style of your conservatory it is now possible to install sliding folding doors up to 3500mm wide without the need for additional steel work.

Manufactured from strong and durable thermally broken aluminium profiles our Visofold bifold door has slim sight lines which provide wider glass apertures when compared to many upvc folding doors. Aluminium bi-folding doors are renown for their ease of operation and reliability in service and our doors also benefit from a dual roller system at the bottom with the panel tops also guided by rollers for smooth running. When fully open the doors stack neatly together ensuring the maximum opening possible is achieved.

Our bi-folding doors feature high security shoot bolt locking as standard and traffic doors are fitted with multi-point hook bolt locking to provide optimum security. The locking system and running gear are fully concealed when the door is closed ensuring that there is no opportunity for an intruder to gain access by tampering with the door gearing, hinges and fixings.
The are many different designs available that will provide a sliding folding door that opens to the left and/or right in your aperture. Many bifolding door styles also include the option of a traffic door that allows normal day to day access to your garden without opening the complete door.

Our thermally broken aluminium folding doors are manufactured from dedicated profiles designed to offer slim sightlines and a robust and durable folding door solution. Visofold sliding folding doors are available up to 6 metres wide and can be manufactured to open inwards or outwards and the locking system and wheels are fully concealed when the door is closed. These Smart Systems Visofold doors have been used for many years throughout the UK and Europe and are widely accepted as a high quality sliding folding door for domestic and commercial installations.
Although there are a growing number of cheap upvc folding doors entering the market the majority of these systems cannot offer the ability to 'open outwards' which is the most popular requirement. In most cases this is because upvc folding doors are manufactured from profiles that were originally designed for windows and doors and have been adapted to manufacture bi-fold doors. The size and weight of the upvc profiles and the reinforcement requirements can also greatly reduce the width, height and door configurations available. It should also be noted that most upvc sliding folding doors use exposed hinges and gearing which can be accessible from the outside and therefore may create a possible security issue.
Our new range of Timberlook UPVC Folding Sliding Doors has been designed with slimmer sight lines and are available in a choice of 19 different colour options including cream, grey, green and black. Read more about the next generation upvc bifold door.
As an alternative to our aluminium bifold range we also offer a full range of timber folding doors in softwood or hardwood.
